Our hub Circular & Inclusive Cities offers seed funding to initiate new collaborative research or support scaling up existing collaborations within this research theme. The hub’s ambition with this call is to support innovative ideas and perspectives on developing circular and inclusive cities and stimulate internal and external
collaborations. Deadline for submission is 17 June, 17.00 hrs.
The money may be used for extending research time of existing staff (financing substitution of teaching), activities such as (but not limited to) consortium building, organizing stakeholder/dissemination events.as well as for hiring temporary researchers. The maximum budget is €30.000 (max 4 grants) per proposal and €60.000 (1 grant). The total budget for this call is €180.000 max.
Please address the following in your proposal:
• Interdisciplinary (at least two disciplines).
• Potential to collaborate with one or more partner institutions (TU/e, WUR, UU or UMC Utrecht).
• Connection to the hub Circular and Inclusive Cities as described in
the white paper, (but not limited to the four research themes mentioned there).
• How will the funding be spent (budget)?
• Deliverables to be achieved.
• Intended impact.
• Potential to link with research agendas (NWA, KIA, KIC, research agenda’s of stakeholders or societal partners), or other Dutch or EU funding policy programmes.
Pitch your proposal
You may pitch your proposal on 14 June, 13:30-17:00 hrs in Utrecht (location to be announced).

You may pitch your proposal (five-minute pitch) and discuss it with colleagues in a workshop ‘Circular and Inclusive Cities – Research results and Future Collaborations’. You can attend the workshop on the spot, but also participate digital. If you want to pitch your proposal, please indicate this by filling out the registration form. Attending the workshop and pitching is not required to submit a proposal.
Deadline and process
Deadline for submission is 17 June, 17.00 hrs. Please send your proposal to Svenja Waldmann, s.waldmann@uu.nl. The proposals will be evaluated by a panel with member of at least three partners of the alliance (composition to be decided shortly) on research quality, impact potential, and added value of the collaboration. We aim for a quick evaluation of the proposals and at a decision well before 1 July.
