Eindhoven University of Technology, Wageningen University & Research, Utrecht University and University Medical Centre Utrecht collaborate in a new strategic alliance. Within this alliance the four institutions combine their expertise in order to contribute to social transitions in the fields of health, food, energy and sustainability. The collaboration will be officially launched on 2 December 14.00 hrs in the presence of Minster van Engelshoven. All employees and students are welcome to join this celebration.

On 2 December at 14.00 hrs all co-workers and students of the four institutions are welcome to join this dynamic online event to become acquainted with this strategic alliance and its work. In a number of round-table discussions and workshops different aspects of the collaboration within the field of research and education will be discussed. Registration is necessary.

Programme 2 December

During the plenary session from 14.00 – 15.00 hrs top researchers of the themes of Personalised Precise Preventive Health and Circular Safe Society speak about the societal impact of the alliance. Young researchers will give a preview of unusual interdisciplinary collaborations between the four institutions. Educational projects will be discussed in the presence of Minister Van Engelshoven. Starting in June 2021 there will be a platform available for students to make it easy to enrol and attend classes at a partner institution. The alliance will also invest in new teaching formats, such as challenge-based learning.

Different workshops on the alliance’s research fields and educational themes are organised between 15.00 – 15.50 hrs.

Challenging future generations

The alliance’s motto is Challenging future generations. In accordance with that motto, young researchers and lecturers play an important role within the collaboration. The representatives of the four Young Academies join forces to advocate for the institutions to take risks and facilitate unusual collaborations far beyond the borders of the individual disciplines, based on the researchers’ inherent curiosity, and which will lead to unexpected results.
