Do you want to be part of an interdisciplinary, inter-university team and design an innovative and sustainable food concept for the Dutch Military? Then join a unique learning adventure, the Food 4 Health and Safety Challenge. You will solve a real-life problem while working on your personal and professional skills together with students from TU/e, WUR and UMC Utrecht.
The challenge is open for third-year Bachelor’s and Master’s students from all different disciplinary backgrounds and from the 4 institutes. It is a part-time elective course, is running from February 2021 to June 2021 and is 7.5 EC. The registration deadline is 15 December 2020.
Innovative, sustainable food concept
The Dutch Ministry of Defence is looking for a new food concept for military on training and missions. Your challenge is to design a concept that is sustainable, satisfactory for the military and suits with the food-requirements set by the Ministry of Defence. You will dive into the problem with a 2 day kick-off event on 12 and 13 February and collaborate with students from Eindhoven and Wageningen on this real-life problem touching on the fields of logistics, sustainability, design, experience and health. During the course, you will work in a student team, creating ideas, pitching solutions and working towards an end product. The grand finale is planned in Utrecht on 25 June.

The registration is now open! If you are ready to step out of your comfort zone and acquire skills for life, sign up now. The registration deadline is 15 December. For the registration, next to general application information, we will ask you to do a test on team-roles and we request you to upload a CV and a motivation. With this information, we will be able to create optimal student groups for the challenge.
Timeline
The challenge starts on 12 & 13 February 2021 on the military basis in Oirschot. It consists of a total of 4 events, that take place over the course of 20 weeks. Each of the 4 face to face events will take place at a different location throughout the Netherlands, from 09:00 – 21:00 hrs. One even has a sleepover. Check the timeline here.
